People are funny, treating Superbowl like it's a new holiday: All week I have been hearing planned menus and preparations for Superbowl Sunday. People -familiars and strangers alike have been asking me all week "what are you doing for Sunday?" or "What are you doin for the Superbowl?" -Stated with both curiosity and compassion as if they don't want me to be alone on this day.-lol
I've been invited to homes by people who don't necessarily watch sports for "the celebration." -The celebration of what, when you don't even watch sports 363- 364 days of the year?
I was at the grocery store today wading through the masses who were scurrying to get last minute items for their feast. I over heard this lady telling her daughter not 2 forget the stuffing for this Sunday and that she already had the yams the pies...Thanksgiving any1?
We Americans love a holiday. I'm not anti the game itself, but just because this game is on a Sunday doesn't make it holy-day. But not I'm about to start treating Superbowl like Thanksgiving even though the pressure is mounting.
